Donate to DRC
FIU’s Disability Resource Center has served the university community for more than 20 years and leads the campus in the creation of usable, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable learning environments. The DRC houses a state-of-the-art adaptive technology lab and supports adaptive computer stations throughout campus. DRC envisions an inclusive community that promotes social awareness and celebrates individuality and diversity.
National trends suggest the number and diversity of students, faculty and staff with disabilities will continue to increase. Today our DRC program serves more than 3,500 students, encompassing those completing undergraduate programs, College of Law, College of Medicine, and Ph.D. programs.
We anticipate this growth to continue as unprecedented numbers of students continue to be impacted by COVID-19 and returning Veterans with disabilities enroll in college.
DRC also provides financial support to students with disabilities by providing scholarship opportunities through the Johnson Scholarship Foundation, the Dr. Fareed Haj Scholarship Endowment for blind and low vision students, and the Accessing the World Scholarship.
