Appointments

We strongly recommend scheduling an appointment to make sure you’ll be seen. You can do this by calling 305-348-8385 or through the Patient Portal. Same-day appointments are limited, so if you need urgent care and don’t see any available online, please give us a call. Walk-in students with urgent needs will be evaluated by a nurse, and based on the situation, may be seen the same day, scheduled for a follow-up, or referred out.

We also offer telehealth appointments, but these must be scheduled by calling 305-348-8385 —they're not available through the portal. Once your telehealth appointment is set, make sure to log into the Patient Portal and complete all necessary forms before your visit. If the forms aren't filled out ahead of time, your appointment will be canceled, and you may be charged a no-show fee.

Forms

If it’s your first time visiting our clinic, please complete all the forms online through the Patient Portal before your appointment. These forms can take 15-30 minutes to fill out, so doing them ahead of time saves you time and helps us get you checked in faster. For returning students, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to your appointment if you haven't completed the forms in advance. This ensures we have everything ready for your visit and reduces wait times for you and others.

Insurance

We only accept the student health insurance plan offered through Academic Health Plan (Aetna). Most services, like labs and vaccines, have no out-of-pocket cost under this plan. If you have any other insurance, you'll need to pay out of pocket for certain services. While your visit is covered by the student health fee, things like labs, vaccines, and medications will have a cost, but we work to keep them affordable. (See the Health Fee page for details.)

Appointment Cancellation Policy

To cancel an appointment, the easiest way is to log into the Patient Portal, go to your appointments, click ‘view appointments’, and then the cancel button. You need to cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment. You can also call the appointment line to cancel or reschedule.  Because of the high demand for services, canceling in advance will enable us to fill the appointment time with another person who needs medical care. There is a fee for appointments missed without 24 hours advance notice that ranges from $10-$30, depending on the appointment type.

Parking at the Main Health Center

The closest lots to the Student Health Center are Lot 13, Lot 9, and PG3. There are a limited number of designated parking spots labeled “clinic” for patients. If you park in one of these spots, be sure to give your license plate number to the front desk when you check in. Parking permits are valid for up to 2 hours. Keep in mind that parking can be tricky, so plan ahead!
