CAPS clinicians offer a plethora of virtual, psycho-educational, drop-in workshop sessions focused on helping students thrive. These 60-minute workshops are designed to assist with coping and provide concrete skills.
Workshops do not provide mental health treatment. If you would like to speak with a counselor, call us at 305-348-2277. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact 911 or an emergency mental health service in your local community.

Have you ever been worried about a student or friend on campus? Faculty, staff and students are in an ideal position to recognize when someone is struggling emotionally and may need help. Kognito is an online simulation that lets you practice conversations with a virtual student, so you’ll know what to say in real life.

- Recognition, Insight, and Openness (RIO)
RIO is an online workshop that will show you skills to handle uncomfortable feelings through a series of short videos and journal exercises. RIO online is based on the RIO workshop created and generously shared by the Cal Poly University Counseling Services Team. - Online Screenings
Online mental health screenings are also available and pertain to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, substance use issues and eating disorders. Online screenings are anonymous and confidential, and they help students determine if their recent thoughts or behaviors may be associated with a common, treatable mental health issue.Take one today!

"PeerCast: A casual chat with the Peer Educators" is a Florida International University podcast series created & hosted by Eliandro Ramirez Chang. Eli is a Miami local, a student in his senior year, and a university employee working as a LEAD Team Peer Educator at FIU’s Counseling and Psychological Services & The Victim Empowerment Program.
Join Eli along with the other Peer Educators as they discuss topics such as stress, sexual assault, mental health and more. Oh! And sometimes they get into arguments about philosophy and aliens.
