FIU Salute to Military Service Breakfast

FIU is honored to welcome students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the veteran and military community to join us for the 10th Annual Salute to Military Service Breakfast, on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025.  

This event recognizes the vital role the military service plays in the national security of the United States of America. Past, present, and future service members will be honored through scholarship awards and an inspirational program. 

Meet Our Keynote Speaker

Brigadier Genenral Aida T. Borras, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa Deputy Commanding General, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1985 and served in multiple elite units, including Special Forces Command and during Operation Just Cause. She earned her commission through the Green to Gold Program and transitioned to the Army Reserve in 2000. Her leadership roles span from platoon to brigade command, culminating as Commanding General of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command. She holds advanced degrees in strategic studies and education, and her awards include the Legion of Merit and Senior Parachutist Badge.
