Rhesia C. Lewis
Bio
Rhesia C. Lewis is a Student Success Advocate in the Division of Academic & Student Affairs. Rhesia graduated from University of Miami with her bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology. After spending two years working for a non-profit organization in Sarajevo, Bosnia; Rhesia worked in public health before transitioning to a career in higher education.
She came to FIU in 2012 as the Administrative Coordinator in the Office of the Provost. During her tenure in the Provost’s Office, Rhesia was instrumental in orchestrating several university-wide meetings and events including: the FIU ComPASS sessions, Faculty Convocation Award Ceremony and FIU Commencements among many other events. She eventually oversaw all faculty processes and supported the Vice Provost for Faculty Leadership and Success.
Rhesia completed her master’s degree in higher education administration with a certificate in academic advising at FIU. She has also taught the First Year Experience course and has mentored students in the Fostering Panther Pride and Golden Scholars programs. She joined the Strategic Initiatives and Data Coaching team in January of 2021.
