Marina Marchena

Bio

Marina T. Marchena is the Assistant Director of Student Progression Initiatives at the Office of Student Success Operations and Strategy. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Counselor Education. In 2018 she began working at FIU as an Academic Advisor, serving Exploratory and Psychology students at the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. She has also taught SLS 1402 and SLS 1501.

Marina joined the Student Success Operation and Strategy team in 2020 and now leads the Student Progression Outreach Team. She develops and oversees the implementation of data-driven outreach interventions and projects aimed to promote student retention, and graduation; and works to identify and address barriers to overall student success.
