Bio
Marina T. Marchena is the Assistant Director of Student Progression Initiatives at the Division of Academic & Student Affairs. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Counselor Education. After graduating, she began working at FIU as an Academic Advisor in 2018, serving Exploratory and Psychology students at the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. She has also taught SLS 1402 and SLS 1501.
Marina joined the Strategic Initiatives and Data Coaching team in 2020. In this role, she assists in the development and implementation of data-driven strategic programs and projects aimed to promote student retention, graduation, and employment; and works to identify and address barriers to overall student success.
