The Financial Wellness Program at FIU aims to help students better understand what it means to live a financially healthy life and all the good things that come along with it. By connecting you to resources and having conversations about financial wellness, we hope to help you build the foundational skills you need to be successful.
At FIU, financial wellness is a key component to living a healthy lifestyle. There are four key components of financial wellness:
- Financial literacy: Gaining the knowledge needed to establish a strong financial foundation
- Financial self-awareness: Understanding your current financial situation
- Financial confidence: Feeling confident about your ability to manage your personal finances
- Financial goal-setting: Establishing and committing to a plan that takes current and future financial needs into consideration
Developing financial wellness is a lifelong skill - starting now, even while in college, creates a strong foundation for a financially healthy future.

iGrad Financial Literacy Platform
FIU has partnered with iGrad to make its dynamic, fully online financial literacy platform accessible to all current students and alumni. New student users can get started on iGrad by completing the financial wellness checkup, which helps the platform customize each student’s dashboard with content and course recommendations based on their responses. The goal is to promote content topics that will be beneficial to each personal user. You can find a wide variety of financial literacy topics on iGrad such as FAFSA support, saving and spending, investing, building credit, assessing insurance needs, and even financial considerations to look out for when you are trying to find your dream job. They also have a dedicated page for Covid-19 resources that they frequently update.
Access FIU’s iGrad, log in using your FIU student credentials. Please note that faculty and staff are able to also utilize iGrad by logging in via the manual sign-up page and indicating that they are an administrator.
