Bio
Raquel Vallecillo is Senior Project Manager of Data Insights and Strategy in the Office of Student Success Operations and Strategy. She is a two-time alumna of FIU, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in English. She began her career at FIU in 2018 as an academic advisor in the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, working closely with students pursuing majors in the humanities. She currently serves as a lecturer in the Department of English’s Writing & Rhetoric program, regularly teaching first-year writing courses.
Raquel joined the Data Insights and Strategy team in 2024, and in her role, she uses data to track retention, attrition, and progression to graduation trends, evaluate student success projects and initiatives, interpret emerging patterns to generate actionable insights, and support the university's student success goals.
