Melissa Jaquez serves as the Supported Transition to Excellence Program (STEP) Success Specialist in the Office of Student Success Operations and Strategy. She is a proud two-time Panther, having earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida International University. Guided by a strong commitment to access, retention, and student-centered support, her academic and professional experience reflects a dedication to advancing student success. In her role, she supports first-time-in-college students through proactive advising and targeted interventions designed to promote academic achievement, personal development, and persistence toward timely degree completion, while encouraging meaningful engagement with campus resources and the FIU community.
