Alexa Urra serves as the Program Director for Florida International University’s Success Courses and Peer Mentor Program. In this role, she provides strategic oversight for FIU’s high-impact, high-enrollment Success Courses, including First Year Experience. Working in close collaboration with institutional leadership and the Office of Student Success Operations and Strategy (SSOS), Alexa leads curriculum development and ongoing course enhancement, while also supporting and training adjunct faculty who deliver these programs.
Alexa holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Human Resource Management from Florida International University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Public Relations from the University of Miami. She is deeply passionate about higher education, student development, and creating meaningful learning experiences that support student success from enrollment through graduation.
