Bio
Jonathan Rodriguez is a two-time alum of Florida International University, having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2008 and his Master’s degree in Public Administration in 2013. Jonathan has been in higher education and student services since 2005. He previously worked at Miami-Dade College as an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Professor in Mathematics.
Jonathan joined FIU as an Academic Advisor for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education in 2017. He advised both the School of Education (focusing on Recreation and Sports Management) and the Liberal Studies/Interdisciplinary Studies program. In 2019, he began teaching the First Year Experience course at FIU and, in 2020, began teaching IDS Capstone.
Jonathan joined Academic and Career Success in 2020 as a Student Progression Specialist and transitioned to Manager of Student Success Outreach Operations in 2023. In December 2024, he transitioned to Assistant Director of Student Success and, in January 2026, transitioned to Associate Director of Student Success.
