Bio
Aqsa Mahmood currently serves as the Assistant Director for the STEP Success Program within the Office of Student Success Operations and Strategy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, making her a proud two-time alumna.
Aqsa began her career at FIU in 2020 as a College Life Coach. In 2024, she became the manager of the College Life Coaching team and also contributed to the creation of the
Advising Ambassador Program. She is deeply passionate about supporting students as they develop both academically and personally. In all of her roles, her goal has been to ensure students feel supported during their transition to college by identifying and removing barriers that get in the way of their progress, while also helping them navigate the challenges of the first-year experience, with a focus on guiding students toward achieving their goal of graduation. In addition to her primary role, Aqsa also enjoys teaching the First-Year Experience course for incoming freshmen.
