The Registered Student Organizations Council (RSOC) is the governing agency that oversees the registration, promotion, development, and distribution of funds for Student Organizations at Florida International University. All registered student organizations are open to all current FIU students.
RSO Council embodies Academic, Arts, Business, Cultural/Social, Engineering, Graduate, Health/Wellness, Honor Societies, Law, Political, Religious/Spiritual, and Service student organizations.
Student organizations are encouraged to register their organization under RSOC. Registering your organization allows you to be a recognized organization at FIU.
There are three opportunities to register:
Summer Priority Registration | July 14 – 26 |
Fall Regular Registration | August 18 – 29 |
Spring New Organization Registration | January 2 – 9 |
Registration is completed via Panther Connect.
Requirements for registration:
- Have a president and RSO Representative with at least a 2.5 GPA and enrolled in at least 9 credits undergraduate, 6 credits graduate, and 3 credits PhD.
- Have at least 10 members interested in joining the organization (including E-Board)
- Secure an advisor.
- Must be a full-time faculty or staff member.
Documents for registration include the following:
- Logo (temporary logo can be used)
- Constitution*
- Advisor Storage Letter*
- National Recognition Letter*
- Only required if your organization is affiliated with a national organization.

- MMC Organization Fair: September 30th at 11am in the Graham Center Ballrooms
- BBC Organization Fair: October 2nd at 12pm in Panther Square
- Fall Commencement Book Submission Deadline: October 10th at 11:59pm
- General Body Meeting: November 4th at 1:30pm (Mandatory Points session)
- Mandatory Point Form Submission: December 5th at 11:59pm
- Spring New Organization Training: January 13th at 1:30pm
- Spring New Organization Advisor Training: January 16th at 11:30am
- MMC Spring Organization Fair: January 27th at 11am
- BBC Spring Organization Fair: January 29th at 12pm
- Spring Commencement Book Submission Deadline: March 6th at 11:59pm
- Special Allocations Request Deadline: March 27th at 11:59pm
- Purchase Request Deadline: April 17th at 11:59pm
- Purchase requests must be submitted AND Advisors must change the stage of Purchase Requests by this deadline.
- Summer Commencement Book Submission Deadline: June 19th at 11:59pm
