Disabled Student Union

Who are we?

FIU's Disabled Student Union (DSU) is a student-led programming bureau of the Student Government Association that is funded by student fees and private donations. All registered student organizations are open to all current FIU students.

The Disabled Student Union is established to foster a community that can assist in ensuring the FIU campus celebrates, advocates, and commits to inclusivity by increasing collaboration and communication between Disabled students and those that are allies. Our purpose is to provide education, awareness, and advocacy through events and initiatives to promote an inclusive, accessible, and affirming community.

Our Mission

The Disabled Student Union is established to provide a safe, accessible, and inclusive space for all students. The DSU aims to empower students by advocating for Disability justice, educating others about barriers of inaccessibility, building relationships with administration, establishing a strong FIU community through impactful intersectional programming, and creating connections in South Florida, and the greater community for Disabled people.
