From inside campus
The Student Health Center is located next to the Veteran & Military Affairs Office (old air traffic control tower), between the School for International & Public Affairs (SIPA) and the Recreation Center. See campus maps.
From outside campus
Enter the campus on SW 8th Street and 112 Ave. At the roundabout, take the first right turn onto Campus Drive. Follow the road, cross straight through the first streetlight, Victory Drive. Pass the Panther Arena which will be on your right (the Recreation Center will appear on your left). At the next stop sign, make a left to follow Campus Drive. The first entrance on your left is our parking lot. We have temporary parking passes available for your visit inside the building.

From outside campus
Enter the campus on NE 151st Street and Biscayne Blvd. At the first stop sign, make a right turn onto N.E. 145th Street, follow the road and make a right turn on to University Drive. Continue to follow University Drive and the SHC building will be on your right side. There is metered parking and student/staff spaces located across from the clinic building.

Student Health Clinic has partnered with Carenet to ensure that we are there for you 24/7 to serve your medical needs. Whether you don’t feel well, need advice, are slightly injured, or think it may be something serious, Registered Nurses are available to help you determine what type of care is best for your condition. After talking about your symptoms, a Registered Nurse may recommend:
- Self-care (applying heat or ice, taking over-the-counter medications, etc)
- Making an appointment with your medical provider at SHS the next day
- Going to Urgent Care
- Going to the Emergency Department

CAP/VEP crisis services
Students can receive 24/7 crisis services from Victim Empowerment Advocate Counselors by calling the CAPS/VEP main number: 305-348-2277. VEP after-hours direct crisis services include on-site response, accompaniment to Rape Treatment Center, assistance accessing safe shelter for domestic violence and help with basic needs. Follow-up appointments to support student’s recovery are also arranged.

The Student Well-being and Mental Health Services provides free, professional, and confidential personal counseling services exclusively for the HWCOM medical students. The SWMHS psychologists specialize in mental health, wellness, and issues relevant to medical student life. Enrolled students may receive counseling throughout their professional education and training.
