The Department of Strategic Communications and Marketing is excited to announce the launch of the Division of Academic & Student Affairs news blog, our new forum for promoting divisional updates and achievements!

As with all news published by FIU, we aim to highlight content on DASA News that elevates the university, showcases student success, and promotes the accomplishments of our Division. Content categories include Student Success, Campus and Community, Career Development, Student Clubs and Organizations, Parents and Families, and Staff News. The website will also feature a calendar feed to display upcoming events.

Please consider DASA News an additional avenue for content promotion in your marketing and communications strategies. You may wish to share relevant articles on your departments’ social media accounts or create RSS feeds on your webpages.

To keep this site up-to-date throughout the year, the Strategic Communications and Marketing team requests that each department and office contribute news bulletins or pitch story ideas to our Account Manager, Tani Kiah. All content ideas must be submitted for consideration via the department’s webform. You are strongly encouraged to include photographs, videos, and other multimedia to be included in the published piece.

Please note that all written content contributed to DASA News will undergo copyediting and, if necessary, revisions; and it will be subject to approval by the Strategic Communications and Marketing team and divisional leadership. You can access writing guidelines, a list of article ideas for inspiration, and tips for publishing on Cascade in SharePoint.

The Strategic Communications and Marketing team will be providing your departments’ Cascade-trained team members with access to the blog’s backend, so they may upload content for our review. Please email Sonia Hernandez (sgonza@fiu.edu) or Tani Kiah (ckiah@fiu.edu) if you would like more information on the process or wish to designate a specific person to upload content.

Thank you in advance for your collaboration in making DASA News a success! We hope it will serve as a resource to your teams and a place of community for the Division.
