  • Admission: FREE for FIU Students and their families
  • Visitors are invited to take a self-guided tour of two exciting new exhibitions on view:
    • The Big World: Alternative Landscapes in the Modern Era – Drawing from The Wolfsonian’s collection of paintings and decorative arts, The Big World challenges expectations of traditional landscape art, revealing changing vistas of the modern era.
    • Harry Clarke and the Geneva Window – In 1926, Harry Clarke was commissioned by the newly independent Irish Free State to create a window as a gift to the League of Nations in Geneva. The completed window was, however, rejected—labeled too provocative and "unrepresentative" of the Irish people. This new installation sheds light on the life and times of Harry Clarke, the stories behind the window, and the consequences of cultural censorship.
    • What's on the Menu: Destination Dining–  Leisure dining flourished from the 1920s onward, not only on land but also at sea and in the air. Restaurants in popular tourist destinations seized on advances in printing, designing an array of souvenirs and other cheaply produced. What's on the Menu explores such ephemera, including decorative menus and other items from ocean liner restaurants, railroad dining cars, in-flight dinner services, and hotels and eateries in cities like New York, New Orleans, and Miami Beach.
    • Smoke Signals: Cigar Cutters and Masculine Values – Cigar cutters were not just utilitarian tools, but also elaborate decorative and figural objects intended for display. They served as personal emblems for the men who used them. The Wolfsonian features cutters in various forms, such as hunting dogs, champagne bottles, and pistols, offering a unique perspective on the culture surrounding cigar smoking.
  • Grab a coffee or browse our thoughtful, provocative selection of design-oriented gifts at the Design Store + Coffee Bar located on the ground floor of the museum!
