Panthers' F1RST NIGHT

Florida International University is excited to welcome you as you begin a new year as a Panther! After the first day of classes on August 26, join us on the field at FIU's newly renamed Pitbull Stadium for Panthers’ F1RST NIGHT. This university tradition combines a formal welcome ceremony, hosted by the FIU President, college deans, and other distinguished faculty and staff, with a night of music and entertainment alongside your fellow Panthers.

Get to know current students and alumni, and interact with dozens of clubs, organizations and programs at FIU to learn how to get involved in our vibrant campus life. Panthers’ F1RST NIGHT is the perfect kickoff to an unforgettable first year at FIU!

This event is open to all students. Attendance is strongly encouraged for all first-year and incoming transfer students who entered FIU in the Summer or Fall 2024 semesters.

Doors open at 6 p.m.; firework display to begin at approximately 9 p.m.
Parents and families are welcome to attend!

*Parking will be available in Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds lot east of Pitbull Stadium. Students with valid parking permits may park in any student space across campus.

Food, music and entertainment will be provided!

  • Can my family attend?

    Yes! Panther family members are welcome to attend. Please be sure to include the number of guests you will be bringing when you register for the event online. 

  • Where can I park for this event?

    Parking will be available in Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds lot east of Pitbull Stadium. Students with valid parking permits may also choose to park in any student space across campus.

  • What if I need assistance or accommodations once I arrive at the stadium?

    Attendees needing special accommodations upon arrival at the stadium are encouraged to park and proceed to the ADA Tent located in the general parking area, where golf cart transportation will be available to take them to the designated ADA entrance.
