Biography: Joanna Garcia serves as Program Director for the Center for Leadership and Service. She has over fourteen years of experience within the field of higher education. In her current role, she oversees the student food pantries and is responsible for various leadership development and community engagement programs. Joanna also serves as an adjunct instructor at FIU for SLS 1501, SLS 1402, and IDH 1931. She earned a Master’s in Higher Education Administration at FIU in 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida in 2006. During her professional career Joanna has also served the university in various committee roles such as the Staff Development Committee, Student Life Awards planning committee, and Student Conduct and Academic Integrity committee. Joanna enjoys having the opportunity to help students and team members develop into highly engaged members of the community.
