Welcome to the Student Life and Development Office for Alumni Relations: 

We are dedicated to fostering a strong and lasting relationship with our student organizations as they graduate and become a vital part of our alumni community. Within SLD’s Alumni office, we are here to support you in any way we can. Our mission is to keep you connected to the university and to each other, and to provide you with opportunities to foster synergy for your personal connection to our FIU.

As an alumnus of FIU, you are an important part of our community, and we value your involvement. Whether you graduated last year or several decades ago, we encourage you to stay connected with us and to take advantage of the many resources and benefits available to you.

Some of the ways you can stay connected include:

  1. Attending alumni events and reunions
  2. Joining the alumni association
  3. Participating in career networking and mentorship opportunities
  4. Staying informed through our alumni newsletter and social media channels
  5. Giving back to the university through donations and volunteering

Objectives of Student Life and Development’s Alumni Office

Growth of the student organization and their development toward our alumni community. This is crucial for the success and sustainability of our student development and alumni advancement.

Annually we will work to:  

  • To foster and maintain relationships with alumni, and to keep them connected to the university and to each other.
  • To provide opportunities for personal and professional growth for alumni through events, networking, and mentorship programs – 
  • To engage alumni in the life of the university and encourage their involvement and support through volunteering, philanthropy, and other forms of giving back.
  • To collect and share alumni news and updates, and to facilitate communication between alumni and the university.
  • To support the career development of alumni and connect them with job and internship opportunities.
  • To celebrate and recognize the achievements of alumni.

Overall, the goal is to create a strong and engaged alumni community that will support the university and its mission, and provide meaningful benefits and opportunities for our students, alumni and Faculty/Staff.

From Convocation to Post Graduation   

  • Successes Already: 
  • Increasing the database from 8000 to 9500 Greek Alums with affiliations
  • Partnering with Registrars and PantherSoft to develop the Student Orgs coding for Greek students and organizations 
  • Alumni Support and Student Involvement
