Student Resources

The Disability Resource Center offers a wide variety of assistive services and technologies to support your academic success. In addition to its state-of-the-art computer lab, the center utilizes the latest in assistive technology to help you reach your full potential.

Accessible Computer Labs

DRC offers quiet Computer Assistive Technology (CAT) Labs. These labs are quiet, accessible computer labs available at MMC and BBC for registered DRC students.

They include adaptive furniture, Windows computers and assistive software such as JAWS and CCTV (InDesign and SPSS aren’t available). If you’re registered with the DRC and have a CAT Lab card, you can use the labs during library hours.

ASL and CARTE Services

Sensory impairment accommodations, such as ASL interpreting and CART services, may require extra coordination and tech setup, which can sometimes cause delays.

Due to a national shortage of in-person ASL interpreters, FIU may offer alternative accommodations when needed. The DRC is committed to providing access to your course materials as smoothly as possible.
