Panther Degree Pathway

The Panther Degree Pathway(PDP) is a planning tool designed to support our students on their path to graduation! This semester-by-semester guide allows students to visualize their entire academic journey, stay on track, and make adjustments as needed.

  • Customizable Course Layout: Students can see all required courses for their major and rearrange them to best fit their needs. 
  • Easy Enrollment Integration: Students can import PDP planned courses to their Schedule Builder for class planning and enrollment. 

How Advisors Can Help Students with Panther Degree Pathway: 

  • Advising Support: Students will be encouraged to consult with you for any questions or if they’re considering significant changes to their plan. 
  • Monitoring Progress: This tool empowers students to take charge of their academic journey, but your expertise will be crucial to ensure they’re making the best choices.

  • What is Panther Degree Pathway?

    Panther Degree Pathway provides a guided, personalized, optimal pathway to completion for the student. You can customize your plan and save them. 

  • Why don't I have a PDP Smartplan?

    Not every major at FIU is supported yet. 

    For more information, reach out to your assigned advisor on your Panther Success Network (PSN) found on MyFIU.

  • Can I move courses around on my plan?

    Yes, you can drag and drop courses around your plan. Simply click any course and it can be moved around. You will receive warnings if the edits to your plan cause a course sequencing error.

  • How do I fix my plan if I get a warning?

    If you made any changes and your planner gives you a warning, click on the Notification Bell Icon on the top right corner of the screen to view the recommended fix.

  • I just made a change on my planner; how do I undo it?

    Your Panther Degree Pathway allows you to undo any changes you make to your planner. Click on the "Path Actions" button on the top right corner of the page and select "Reset". NOTE: This action will reset all previous changes.

  • Can I change how many credits I can take per semester?

    Yes, you can. Click on the "Mass Edit Max-Units" button and select the semester(s) to edit target credits, and then click the "Submit" button.

  • Can I replace a course that was planned for me?

    Only the program prescribed courses are planned for you. If a program requirement has a list of course options, you are to click on the "+Select Course" button to choose a course from among the allowed options.
