TEAS

Test of Essential Academic Skills

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a multiple-choice scholastic aptitude assessment used to measure entry-level skills and abilities of potential nursing program students. It is a four-part exam consisting of the following areas:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • English Skills

If you are applying to the  FIU Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences, you must consult with an academic advisor to determine whether you are required to take the TEAS for admission to your program. There is a 30 days wait requirement before retaking the TEAS exam. It is important for test takers to plan ahead and secure a testing appointment early, as availability may be limited. At FIU the TEAS exam is administered in-person only.
