For students with insurance coverage through their government’s embassy, the only acceptable document for compliance with insurance requirements is the FIU Alternative Insurance Compliance Form, which must be completed by an embassy representative for the current term(s).
The student and their embassy sponsor must complete the FIU Alternative Health Insurance Compliance Form and submit it to the Health Compliance Office to verify coverage. Don't forget to provide your Embassy ID number!
If you are a continuing sponsored student, please be advised that you must submit a new FIU Alternative Insurance Compliance Form every semester to ensure you maintain continuous coverage throughout your time at FIU. New forms must also be submitted every time you extend your current policy or purchase a new insurance policy. Failure to comply with this request may result in termination of your SEVIS record. Holds are not removed without status updates.
