Christie Murata

Bio

Christie Murata has worked at Florida International University for over 7 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Florida Atlantic University in Linguistics with a concentration in TESOL, and her master’s degree at the University of Central Florida in Educational Leadership- Higher Education/Student Personnel. Christie has experience working in various departments such as Registration and Admissions, Transfer and Transition Services, International Student Services, and Academic Advising. In her current role, she works with an international pathway program, Global First Year as the Academic Advisor. Christie values serving her local and global community, and recently became the faculty advisor for the UNICEF club at FIU. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach.
