Working with the FIU Career and Talent Department has been an amazing experience, from an employer standpoint. I've partnered with them for a few events, but one of my favorite has been Panther Shadow Program. We had a few students come and shadow a few of the execs in our organization in December 2019. The students sent were professional and eager to learn. I was very impressed with the young lady that shadowed me and kept her contact information. This year, I was given additional headcount for my department. I contacted her immediately for an interview and after interviewing a few candidates, she definitely stood out. I'm happy to announce that she was hired within the organization and I'm excited to be part of her growth and development within the HR world!Elizabeth Gonzalez, Behavioral Family Solutions

Micro-Internships
Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects enable FIU students and recent alumni to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off. Micro-Internships are used by companies ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to emerging start-ups, and go across departments including sales, marketing, technology, HR, and finance, and much more
Micro-Internships are facilitated via the Parker Dewey FIU platform, which connects FIU students and recent alumni with Companies in need of support.

While we were focused on just getting some help on a project, we quickly realized that the student was incredible, and ultimately hired her as a summer intern. We saw her work ethic and skills, and got an inside track on hiring her.Microsoft, Parker Dewey Featured Employer
